International patients are evaluated and treated through the same streamlined clinical system used for local and regional patients. Care is delivered by fellowship-trained orthopaedic specialists that includes surgeons, advanced imaging, physical therapy, and integrated rehabilitation services across Southern California. Care Coordination & International Support
International patients can begin by contacting Premier Orthopaedic & Trauma Specialists directly by phone to initiate the intake process. A member of the scheduling team will assist with intake, records review, and appointment coordination. Some patients may need to be cleared for a “safe to fly” window, which can be 2 to 6 weeks depending on the procedure and surgeon.
Our team will need to review prior imaging, medical records, and referral information before the first visit. Please call our office to find out the best format to send your previous scans, imaging, and documents. Patients are then matched with a specialist based on condition type, urgency, and treatment needs. If your case is urgent, we will do our best to coordinate an expedited evaluation.
Step 1: Contact Premier Orthopaedic & Trauma Specialists.
Step 2: Submit medical records, imaging, and a summary of the condition, if available from the referring physician. We will propose an initial appointment and develop a care plan based on clinical needs.
Step 3: Prior to arrival, we will let patients know what to expect regarding visits, recommended testing, and indicated procedures, so we can coordinate in-person appointments and travel plans. We will also discuss financial considerations at that time and answer any questions you have.
Step 4: Upon arrival, patients will attend scheduled consultations and any required imaging or diagnostic testing. We will group appointments when possible to reduce repeated visits.
Step 5: Treatment may include non-operative management, injections, rehabilitation, or surgical intervention depending on the diagnosis. Patients are guided through each step of the process, including pre-operative preparation, recovery planning, and post-operative instructions.
Step 6: Follow-up may include in-person visits during the patient’s stay and/or coordinated remote follow-up after return to their home country. This will vary based on the type of services rendered and the patient’s health profile.
